LLANGEFNI picked up a huge WRU National League Division One North triumph with a hard-fought 19-15 home win over nearby rivals Caernarfon.

The home side managed to remain resolute despite a strong fightback from the Cofis and the adverse weather conditions, and the result sees them move three points clear of basement dwellers Mold as they look to finally kickstart their campaign.

Bethesda also secured a notable success with a 10-0 victory at Bro Ffestiniog, turning in a sensational defensive performance in the face of some stern pressure to move into fifth spot in the standings and 12 points behind third-placed Nant Conwy.

Although they faced a difficult test at in-form Division Two North side Colwyn Bay, Dolgellau managed to take advantage of some handling errors from the hosts to seal an important 15-12 win on their travels, and they have now won five of their six league games to remain in title contention.

Menai Bridge’s home contest against Denbigh Seconds and Holyhead’s tie with Rhos were postponed due to waterlogged pitches in Division Three North, with Llangefni Seconds’ trip to Shotton Steel also falling victim to the weather.
