SPORTS reporter Dean Jones returns with his Huws Gray Alliance predictions ahead of what is sure to be another dramatic weekend of action.

Rhyl vs Bangor City

This is undoubtedly one of the marquee games anywhere in the Welsh football pyramid system, and both sides could not be going into the clash in better form at the moment.

They have 15 successive wins in all competitions between them, and this is sure to be a thoroughly entertaining affair that is going to be decided by the slimmest of margins.

Prediction: Rhyl 2-2 Bangor City

Airbus Broughton vs Holyhead Hotspur

The Wingmakers go in search of their 14th consecutive victory to continue their record-breaking pursuit of a return to the JD Welsh Premier League, but it has been a case of contrasting fortunes for the Holy Islanders this term as they currently sit bottom of the standings.

It is hard to envisage anything other than a comfortable home victory in this one, although Darren Garmey’s men do have the firepower to hurt the pacesetters if they take them lightly.

Prediction: Airbus Broughton 3-1 Holyhead Hotspur

Gresford Athletic vs Penrhyncoch

Steve Halliwell’s men will be aiming for better fortune on home soil this weekend after falling to a late loss against Porthmadog last time out, with the Roosters also going through a relatively poor patch after what was a largely encouraging start to the season.

With just two points separating the two sides in the table, this represents a real crossroads game for both in relation to their overall ambitions in the weeks and months ahead.

Prediction: Gresford Athletic 2-0 Penrhyncoch

Ruthin Town vs Conwy Borough

Chris Williams’ side come into the game on the back of an eye-catching win at Penrhyncoch, and they face a Tangerines’ outfit that is on a poor run after an outstanding start to the campaign.

This game will be decided by which formidable striker turns up, with Llyr Morris and Corrig McGonigle pivotal to their side’s chances on a weekly basis.

Prediction: Ruthin Town 2-1 Conwy Borough

Buckley Town vs Denbigh Town

Although their recent form has gone slightly downhill, Buckley Town can look back on their early season effort with an enormous sense of pride and they have another chance to pick up a valuable three points this weekend against a Denbigh side that have been inconsistent on the whole this season.

Dewi Llion and Matthew Jones’ side will be hoping to build on their vital win over Holyhead Hotspur last weekend, but their inability to put together a long run of results has been their downfall so far this term.

Prediction: Buckley Town 1-1 Denbigh Town

Guilsfield vs Flint Town United

The Guils’ are one of the most formidable sides in the league on home soil, so this will be a significant test for the Silkmen as they look to keep the pressure on Airbus in the feint hope they might slip up in the second half of the season.

This is a game they will have to grind out against a well-drilled outfit, but Niall McGuinness’ side do possess plenty of match-winners that may prove to be the difference.

Prediction: Guilsfield 0-1 Flint Town United

Porthmadog vs Holywell Town

Port’s defensive strength was there once again for all to see in their dramatic win at Gresford Athletic, and they return at home against Johnny Haseldin’s side who are improving slowly but surely since the return of the popular manager.

Home field advantage might prove to be the deciding factor in this one, but it is sure to be a hotly contested game between two sides with plenty to play for.

Prediction: Porthmadog 2-1 Holywell Town

Prestatyn Town vs Llanrhaeadr YM

This is a crucial contest for the Seasiders’ in terms of their efforts to avoid the drop, and three points ahead of their difficult festive fixtures in the coming weeks.

Llanrhaeadr have defied expectations so far this season and are more than capable of getting a result at the Motion Finance Stadium, but with so much at stake for Neil Gibson’s side it would be a huge shock if they did not rise to the occasion and secure a morale-boosting success.

Prediction: Prestatyn Town 2-0 Llanrhaeadr YM
