LLANGEFNI Town will not have to travel far for their FAW Trophy last 16 contest after being handed a tie at Llanrug United.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One leaders take on David Noel-Williams’ side in what is expected to be yet another memorable occasion between the two sides, who come up against each other in a pivotal third-tier clash in the race for the title on Wednesday night.

Both sides have been in outstanding form during the season so far, with Chris Roberts’ Cefni winning their 16th straight contest against Brymbo to reach the next round, making it 17 unbeaten in all competitions for the promotion hopefuls.

The cup tie will also see Kevin Lloyd come up against his former club, with the forward joining United from Caernarfon Town in the summer before making a swift move to Town just a few games into the campaign.

Bodedern Athletic have been rewarded for their superb victory over Chirk AAA with a home encounter against Four Crosses, who booked their place in the hat with a 3-1 victory over last season’s finalists Rhos Aelwyd.

All ties will be played on Saturday, January 12.
