BLAENAU Ffestiniog Amateurs remain in control of Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two thanks to an emphatic 4-0 win at Gaerwen.

The long-time leaders performed exceptionally once again to maintain their comfortable cushion over Kinmel Bay and maintain their outstanding start to the campaign, with Iwan Jones wasting no time in making his presence felt with the opener after just ten minutes.

Jones was on hand against to slot home a second during the final exchanges of the first half on 44 minutes, and the hosts made sure of another three points when Tom Hughes converted an opportunity with 75 gone.

There was still time to rub further salt into the visitors’ wounds, and it was Jones once again who struck to round off a sensational individual display with a hat-trick.

Aberffraw also secured a hugely impressive victory with a resounding 5-1 triumph on home soil over Mochdre Sports.

A brace from Nathan Moore did the majority of the damage, with Richard Roberts, Liam Williams and Steve Jenkins also on target for the hosts.

Amlwch Town’s struggles continued as they were thrashed 6-1 at home by a resurgent Penmaenmawr Phoenix, and Pentraeth emerged from their trip to in-form Kinmel Bay with a 3-1 loss.

There was better fortune for Llannerchymedd, who moved into the top six with a 3-0 home win over Holyhead Town.

Rob Jones hit a second half brace to lead his side to success, and Jack Carter finished well on the hour mark.
