TWO leading organisations have been announced as official partners for next summer’s Inter Games Football Tournament on Anglesey.

As preparations continue to progress at a pace for next summer’s prestigious event, which will be hosted on Anglesey for the first time ever, the Ynys Môn 2019 organisers have secured partnerships with the Football Association of Wales and FAW Trust.

With 15 teams from ten islands across the globe set to descend upon Anglesey from June 15-22 next year to contest the Inter Games Tournament, excitement is building ahead of next summer’s men’s and women’s competitions.

Securing the support of the FAW and FAW Trust is a fantastic achievement for the tournament’s organising committee, entirely comprised of volunteers, as it will see them work in partnership with Welsh football’s governing body and the Trust to provide the best possible tournament on the island next summer.

The 2019 Inter Games tournament offers the Ynys Mon Island Games Association a real opportunity to showcase what they can do as they bid to host the International Island Games Tournament in 2025, which would mean that – if Ynys Mon were successful with their bid – the island would host what is dubbed the ‘Mini Olympics’ for the first time ever.

FAW Chief Executive Jonathan Ford, said: “The Football Association of Wales is delighted to support the games. We are sure they will be a huge success both on and off the field.”
