CAERNARFON Town will host one of the best British boxers in a generation at a special event

The Canaries announced that an evening with Merseyside slugger Tony Bellew is scheduled for Friday, February 22, with commercial manager Phil Jones set to release ticket details and further information in the coming weeks.

The news comes during the final few days of Bellew’s career, with the popular figure set to take on the formidable Oleksandr Usyk in a Cruiserweight world title showdown at the Manchester Arena on Saturday, November 10.

Bellew, who has stated this will be his final fight regardless of the result, famously defeated former Heavyweight world champion David Haye via stoppage on both occasions and has tasted defeat just twice in a glittering 11-year career against Nathan Cleverly and Adonis Stephenson.

The outspoken figure, nicknamed ‘The Bomber’ due to his incredible punching power, faces the toughest test of his professional career against Usyk, who is widely considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters anywhere on the planet thanks to his relentless style and ruthless aggression inside the ring.

Bellew, who is a lifelong and passionate Everton fan and knocked out Ilunga Makabu at Goodison Park in 2016, said: “I will find a way to defeat the monster.

“I don't know how or when, or at what stage it will happen. But I will get to him. I'll get him. He will feel something that he's never felt.

“Let's see if he wants this as much as me. If he does, you're in for the best night of fighting ever.”
