BANGOR City secured their first win of the season with a morale-boosting 3-0 victory at home to NWHL Division 3 rivals Bebington.
The Wirral side found it difficult to break through Bangor’s hard-court press and City soon began to dictate possession.
After forcing a short corner, Bangor went a goal up on 20 minutes with Tats Greenhalgh slamming home a drag flick.
The Blues continued their domination, and ten minutes after the half time break, they doubled their lead through Oli Fleming, who sidestepped the onrushing Bebington keeper before slotting home the finish.
Bangor grabbed their third of the afternoon five minutes later thanks to a tidy low finish Paul McCallum.
The win takes Bangor out of the bottom two, with another big game on Saturday, away to bottom side Wrexham Glyndŵr (1.45pm).
A depleted Bangor City seconds succumbed to a 7-0 loss away to Brooklands MU in Manchester.
With only nine men making the journey, City put in a valiant display as they trailed by just the odd goal at half time, before the hosts dominated the second half.
The seconds play host to Keele University on Saturday (2.15pm).
