TEAMS battled their way through powerful winds as the Benllech Car Boot Trophy kicked off in the Anglesey League.

Holders Arriva Bangor progressed as forward Danny Camilleri hit a hat-trick to earn them a 3-1 win over Cefni. Nathan Lewis with the goal for the visitors.

Caergybi crushed Pentraeth Reserves 9-1 to make it through to the second round. Dewi Thomas bagged a hat-trick, whilst James Ryan (2), Dave Webb, Marcus Bell and Mason Hughes completed the rout.

Valley crashed out of the cup to Holyhead Hotspur Reserves as a goal from Kris Dunne was enought o see the visitors progress.

Finally, Llanfairpwll sealed their progression to the next round with a 5-2 win over Llandegfan (After Extra Time). Goals from Dave Parry and Ryan Hughes for Llandeg and Shaun Morris and an own goal for Llanfair, as well as a penalty save from Daniel Kendrick (Llandeg) saw the game go to Extra Time. A superb strike from Shaun Morris made it 3-2 before Terry Wax's double killed the game off.

In the Anglesey League, Bodorgan came away from Cemaes Bay with all three points as Danny Connolly got the only goal of the game.
