BANGOR City Men's Hockey 1st team went down 4-0 away to NWHL Divison 3 opponents Alderley Edge 3rds last Saturday.

Travelling a player short, City's 10 men would be up against it from the off, but they battled well as the hosts found it hard to break through the Blues' disciplined half-court press.

However after several defensive interventions and saves from Rayshauun Suen, Edge found the breakthrough on the 25 minute mark with a close range effort which slipped beneath Suen.

Going into half time the odd goal down gave City encouragement however, with Gwion Jones and Paul McCallum going close with chances early in the second period.

However, the home side pounced on a quick counter on 44 minutes to double their lead. Dave Paterson had a shot saved as City committed further forward in search for a goal, but Edge kept their shape and energy throughout and netted two further goals before the end to secure a comfortable victory in spite of a valiant display from all 10 Bangor players.

Bangor City's 2nds went down to a battling 3-0 loss at home to Division 7 opponents Chester.

Next week, City's first team host fellow strugglers Bebington 2nds (2.15pm), while Bangor 2nds travel to Brooklands (3pm).
