PRESTATYN Sports moved up to seventh in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One table after a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Llandudno Junction.

Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ side have made an impressive start to their first ever campaign in the third tier, and they displayed their fighting qualities once again at the Arriva Stadium against a Junction side that turned in a much-improved performance following their recent struggles.

The home side were rewarded for a positive start in the first period when Gary Cooper took advantage of a good chance by slotting into the net, but Sports came out after the interval in completely different form thanks to some stern words at half-time from the management team.

They managed to level proceedings shortly after the restart through a thunderbolt from Ben Cawley, and things got even better for the away side soon after when Darren Cassidy was pout through on goal by debutant Connor Beattie, and the gifted forward made no mistake with the finish to give his side another vital three points as they look to firmly establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the division.

Kinmel Bay also continue to make waves in their debut Division Two season thanks to a resounding 3-0 triumph over Gaerwen.

A scoreless first period was turned on its head when Niall Hughes netted for the hosts after 50 minutes, and more good build-up play on 70 saw Andy Colquitt double their advantage at a crucial stage.

Bay wrapped up the points soon after when Jordan Worthington produced a sensational finish after 75 minutes, and the result sees the newly promoted side surge into second spot having played two games more than leaders Blaenau Ffestiniog.
