BLAENAU Ffestiniog Amateurs continue to head the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two standings with a 2-0 home win over Pentraeth.

The early pacesetters were made to work hard for another three points to extend their sensational opening to the campaign, with Shaun Roberts putting the hosts’ ahead with a fine finish after 48 minutes.

Things got even better for the home side soon after when Tom Hughes netted after 54 minutes to give the Amateurs their ninth win in ten league games.

Y Felinheli moved into second spot with a comfortable 4-1 triumph over Llannerchymedd.

A tense first period saw the visitors gain the advantage just before the break through Rob Jones, but the home side levelled matters after the break when Gruff Jones finished well after a neat team move on 56 minutes.

This was swiftly followed by another courtesy of Ifan Emry after 59 minutes, and a brace late on from Iwan Owen confirmed the success and moved the hosts to within eight of Blaenau with a game in hand.

Holyhead Town were in ruthless mood throughout their clash at Mochdre Sports, eventually coming away with an outstanding 8-0 victory.

Prolific forward Asa Thomas was at the top of his game and fired a hat-trick during the rout, with recent signing Gary Jo Owen also continuing his exceptional run since joining the club with a brace.

A solitary Iwan Lloyd effort late on gave Aberffraw a 1-0 victory at Llannefydd, with Paul Bryant also striking within the final five minutes for Gaerwen in their 2-2 draw with Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

There was no such luck for Amlwch Town, who suffered a heavy 7-0 reverse at home to Kinmel Bay.
