THE Anglesey League is set to throw up some closely-fought battles this weekend with fixtures taking place on Saturday afternoon.

Bryngwran Bulls will host Holyhead Hotspur Reserves at home and having beaten them 4-3 in the reverse fixture, they will fancy their chances.

However, Hotspur's second string will go into that tie with their heads held high having beaten Gwynedd League side Glantraeth in the NWCFA Junior Cup last Saturday.

Elsewhere, Bodorgan will welcome Cemaes Bay to Cae Cob. These two sides looked very evenly-matched on paper and so this one is a tough one to call.

It could be down to Bod striker Luke Allaway (8 goals) and Cemaes' Ryan Rowlands (14 goals) to make the difference in this clash.

Cefni are set to host Caergybi at home in what will no doubt be a highly feisty and entertaining tie. Neither side are afraid of putting a good challenge in and both have started quite well too so it should be a good game.

Dan Jones' unpredictable Valley side will take on Arriva Bangor at Cae Mwd. The home side's defence will have to be at their very best to stop Arriva striker Scott Hughes who has returned from injury and hit 12 goals in his past two games, bagging a quadruple of hat-tricks.

In what could be the most entertaining clash of the weekend, Llanfairpwll will take on Llandegfan. The bottom two sides in the division will go head to head and there should be plenty of goals. Llanfair haven't won since opening day and Llandeg are yet to claim a point so both sides will be going all out for the win.

Pentraeth Reserves will be playing in the NWCFA Junior Cup this Saturday and will take on Vale of Clwyd & Conwy Premier League side Llansannan (1.30pm ko).
