BLAENAU Ffestiniog made it five out of five at home to start the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two campaign thanks to a 2-1 win over Llannerchymedd.

The early pacesetters are now three points clear at the summit after leaving it late to secure another three points, with Tom Hughes putting them ahead with a well-taken effort after 39 minutes.

Rob Jones levelled proceedings for the visitors after the break on 49 minutes, and with the game heading towards a stalemate Kieron Ellis popped up with a wonderful finish after 86 to extend the home side’s excellent start to the season.

Amlwch Town were unable to cause a stir at the summit and suffered a heavy 10-2 defeat at title favourites Glan Conwy.

Jordan Griffiths put the visitors to the sword with a double hat-trick during a scintillating individual attacking performance, with Martin Byast and Shaun Griffiths netting Town’s consolation goals either side of half-time.

A brace from Ryan Wood was the catalyst behind Pentraeth’s 2-1 success over Aberffraw, and a serious arm injury to Holyhead Town’s Mike Edwards resulted in the abandonment of their clash at Y Felinheli.
