MENAI Bridge Tigers continue to set the early pace in the Gwynedd League after securing a 4-1 home win over Talysarn Celts.

The title favourites turned in another polished attacking display to extend their perfect record, and they now enjoy a three-point cushion at the summit with a game in hand.

Dean Redmond got them off to a fantastic start when he converted a penalty after 20 minutes, and their persistence paid off once again after the interval when Sion Hogan doubled their tally after a prolonged period of pressure.

The impressive Redmond all-but sealed with points with his second of the afternoon on 61 minutes, and the forward rounded off a fine individual display with his hat-trick courtesy of another spot kick on 66.

Jac Jones managed to net a consolation for the visitors a minute from time, but it failed to take the gloss off another commanding display from the in-form Tigers.

Nefyn United now occupy second spot in the standings thanks to a resounding 7-0 success at Mynydd Tigers.

A treble from the outstanding Josh Lloyd Jones did the majority of the damage, with Daniel Roberts, Jack Williams, Guto Roberts and Mark Dunn also on target.

Mark Griffiths was the star of the show for Gwalchmai in their emphatic 6-2 triumph at Waunfawr, with the gifted striker firing in a hat-trick that contributed significantly to their victory. Cory Sinnott (2) and Gwion Thomas complete the rout.

Glantraeth picked up their biggest win since reforming under Warren Gibbs, with a brace apiece from Tom Hadley and Andy Clark doing the majority of the damage in their 6-1 success at Bontnewydd, and a four-goal salvo from Carwyn Williams was the catalyst behind Llangoed’s 6-1 thrashing of Llanystumdwy.
