A NUMBER of former Bangor City stars have found new homes as the season gets underway this weekend.

Dean Rittenberg, Guto Williams and Danny Gosset were part of the Citizens’ squad that secured a second-place finish in the JD Welsh Premier League under Kevin Nicholson last term, but all have decided to try their luck elsewhere following their relegation to the Huws Gray Alliance after failing to secure an FAW Domestic Licence.

Former Blackburn Rovers youth product Rittenberg was in high demand after a standout campaign that saw him shortlisted for the WPL’s Young Player of the Year award, and he joins a talented squad that exceeded expectations under Huws Griffiths last season which resulted in the Wrexham area side qualifying for the Europa League.

Talented midfielder Gosset has put pen to paper at ambitious Bala Town, who are aiming to dethrone all-conquering champions The New Saints of Oswestry Town following a series of eye-catching signings during the summer transfer window.

The Wales C international began his career at Oldham Athletic’s Academy, and has also represented Stockport County, Rhyl, TNS and the Citizens.

Gosset also spent time at the V9 Academy during the pre-season, which was set up by Leicester City and England star Jamie Vardy.

Another Academy star Williams is staying in the top flight after agreeing a move to Cardiff Met on a season-long loan.

A club statement, said: “The Wales Youth Academy Captain will be heading to South Wales to pursue his academics at Cardiff Metropolitan University and will join up with the WPL side for the 2018/19 season.

“We wish him well and look forward to him returning an even better player.”
