STANDOUT performances from Martin Roberts and Dewi Hood guided Bodedern to an impressive eight-wicket home triumph over Mynydd Isa.

The North Wales Cricket League Division Two side moved closer to the teams above them after a polished display, restricted their opponents to 150 all out from 41 overs in the middle.

Roberts led the way with the ball to claim the wickets of Ben Wilbraham (9), Ryan Wynne (9), Tim Brockley (7) and Mark Pierce (1) on his way to figures of 4-21 from an eight over spell.

He was aided at the other end by Blake Thomas, who claimed two scalps for the loss of 26 runs, and he also superbly ran out dangerous opener Phil Bradfield for 31 at a critical stage of the innings.

The home side reached their target with minimal fuss thanks to sterling contributions from Roberts (25) and Thomas (31), but Hood was the star of the show during a masterful knock which saw him end the day unbeaten on 63.

This enabled the hosts to reach their required target for the loss of two wickets after 39 overs at the crease, and they face Mynydd Isa once again when they are next in action on their travels on July 7.
