CAERNARFON Town have finalised their pre-season preparations ahead of their long-awaited return to the JD Welsh Premier League.

The Huws Gray Alliance champions announced a six-fixture schedule featuring domestic, English and Irish sides, as manager Sean Eardley readies his squad for a tilt at the top flight after a dominant title-winning season last term.

They begin their friendlies with a trip to Conwy Borough on Tuesday July 10, who secured promotion to the second tier at the first time of asking by winning the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One crown, in addition to the FAW Trophy and Cookson Cup.

This will be swiftly followed by their first home game of the summer against Morecombe U23s on Saturday, July 14, before travelling to Evo-stik League side Colwyn Bay on Tuesday 17.

The action continues to come thick-and-fast as they welcome Greater Manchester outfit AVRO FC on Saturday, July 21, with their tie against NIFL Bluefin Sport Championship side Portadown sure to draw a large crowd to The Oval.

Eardley’s men close out their pre-season calendar on Saturday, August 4 when they host Afan Lido in what is sure to be another stern test that will stand them in good stead for the upcoming challenges at the top of the Welsh pyramid.

The Cofis have already tied down a large number of key squad members including Darren Thomas, skipper Nathan Craig and striker Jamie Breese, with the manager working hard behind the scenes to strengthen the squad further for his first full season at the helm.
