CAERNARFON Town have received a boost with the news that three key squad members have committed to the club.

The Huws Gray Alliance champions have already begun preparing for their return to the JD Welsh Premier League, and manager Sean Eardley has secured the signatures of goalkeeper Alex Ramsay, full-back Joe Williams and forward Danny Brookwell.

Ramsay is believed to have turned down the chance to join up with former Cofis’ boss Iwan Williams at Llandudno, while Brookwell has resisted overtures from a number of high-profile clubs to remain at The Oval.

Eardley, said: “The work that we have done already has been really busy and I am absolutely made up with this news.

“I said close season we needed signal our intent and keep the current squad together. A number of occasions last season I thought we could compete with top level clubs and thankfully we won the league and keeping them here is great.

“All three bring experience even though they are relatively young, and they are all big game players.

“Alex is one of the best keepers in the Welsh system as far as I am concerned and his aura and professionalism is great to have around the place.

“Joe is a fans’ favourite who has made the right-back position his own and I am looking forward to seeing him compete at top level.

“With the season Danny had, certain clubs were interested which proved to be the case and he came to me and wanted to pursue this challenge. He has electrifying pace who can win a game on his own.”

Further squad announcements are expected in the coming weeks ahead of a busy summer of activity ahead of their tilt at the top flight, with Porthmadog standout Sion Bradley and Holywell Town defender Steven Thomas believed to be on Eardley’s wish list.
