BANGOR City manager Kevin Nicholson has pulled off a double swoop as he continues to re-shape his squad for the second half of the season.

The Citizens announced the signings of Joel Bembo-Leta and Yves Zama on Tuesday, January 23, with the JD Welsh Premier League outfit looking to push for Europe after an encouraging Phase One which left them in third spot.

The versatile Bembo-Leta is an imposing defender who can play across a range of positions including centre back, defensive midfield and right back. He began his career with Stalybridge Celtic where he made over 150 appearances, scoring six goals.

Bembo-Leta, aged 25, has also enjoyed spells with Curzon Ashton, Colwyn Bay, Marine, Buxton and Droylsden before signing for Altrincham in July 2017, where he made 20 appearances for the Evo-Stik Premier League leaders before transferring to Witton Albion.

Zama joins from Evo-Stik North club Ramsbottom United, having previously played for Hesketh Bank, Nelson, Bacup Borough and Burscough.

The 23-year-old caught the attention of Southport's management team in a pre-season friendly against the latter before signing for the Sandgrounders in August.

City are in JD Welsh Cup action this Saturday when they travel to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant on Saturday (1.30pm), who reached this stage of the competition thanks to an impressive 3-2 victory over top six side Cefn Druids on home soil.
