MasterChef is back for a brand new series this spring and will see 45 new chefs entering the competition.

The contestants will be hoping to win over judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode in the hope of being crowned this year's champion.

Week four of series 18 will see nine more new chefs cooking a signature dish, three of which will go through to the next round.

The other six will need to cook something else before two are sent home.

The series has also seen a major change, which includes the Audition Round.

Here's everything you need to know about week four of MasterChef 2022.

Who are the contestants for week 4 of MasterChef 2022?

Bhavina

Age (at time of filming): 31

Job (at time of filming): Head of Marketing

Current Location (at time of filming): Barking, London

Hometown: I was born and raised in Birmingham where I spent most of my life. I’ve been moving around after university with jobs but have finally settled down in London where I have been living for the past three years

Food Style/Inspiration

I grew up in a big family, with my mum cooking Gujurati (North West India) dishes. I like cooking traditional recipes that she cooked when we were little but also my own take on them - Indian food with a twist I guess you could say.

Why MasterChef?

I feel like I’ve found my path with my career and have become established in what I’m doing. I just want to push myself really, a little out of my comfort zone in some ways.

Carly

Age (at time of filming): 34

Job (at time of filming): Dental Nurse

Current Location (at time of filming): Sheffield

Hometown: Sheffield

Food Style/Inspiration

I’d say my style of cooking is intuitive. I don’t really follow recipes, I just go with the flow and cook by eye and taste. I love good hearty British food for everyday cooking but then often try something new if it’s a special occasion.

Why MasterChef?

With five children, there hasn’t been much time for me in the past few years. But as they are getting older that is changing and I just want to do something for myself, something I’m passionate about and that excites me.

Evy

Age (at time of filming): 38

Job (at time of filming): Artist

North Wales Chronicle: Evy (BBC)Evy (BBC)

Current Location (at time of filming): Worcester Park, Surrey

Hometown: I grew up in central Poland in a little town called Tomaszow Mazowiecki. I lived for a year in Valencia, Spain, while studying architecture there. I moved to London in 2006.

Food Style/Inspiration

I grew up in Poland so my childhood was full of quite hearty Polish food which I still love to cook, but I now take inspiration from so many more places. I love trying to elevate my food to that fine dining level, with beautiful presentation. I guess that’s the artist in me.

Why MasterChef?

I gave up my career as an architect to be a full-time mum. Now the children are a little older it’s time to do something for me.

James

Age (at time of filming): 38

Job (at time of filming): PGA Golf Professional

Current Location (at time of filming): Kent

Hometown: I grew up in Sidcup and now live in Bearsted, Kent.

Food Style/Inspiration

I’d say I cook a lot of British homely dishes, but I love learning new dishes. I mainly cook for my family, which includes two young children. I like it when we get a chance to eat as a family and I love making food fun for the kids. Masking different pastas, pizzas or baking some sweet treats is something they love getting involved with.

Why MasterChef?

I’ve applied lots in the past but never been successful, which actually is a blessing in disguise as this last couple of years because of lockdown I’ve been cooking more than ever. So it’s the right time to give it a go. I’m pretty competitive but I’m really excited about the whole experience of taking part in the show.

Jamahl

Age (at time of filming): 27

Job (at time of filming): Recruitment Consultant

North Wales Chronicle: Jamahl (BBC)Jamahl (BBC)

Current Location (at time of filming): London

Hometown: Grew up in Woolwich, South East London. I also lived in Coventry for university and Barcelona for a summer. I learnt about some great food there!

Food Style/Inspiration

My Caribbean roots certainly inspire what I cook, but I also love to show that you can mix that up with other cuisines. So I love to cook food that I remember eating as a child but also dishes I enjoy eating as an adult.

Why MasterChef?

The greatest thing about food for me is seeing how it brings people together. My friends and family all love eating my food so I want to see if the judges do too.

Meg

Age (at time of filming): 24

Job (at time of filming): Radio Producer

Current Location (at time of filming): Manchester

Hometown: Grew up in Preston and went to Newcastle University and lived in Newcastle.

Food Style/Inspiration

I’m vegan, so I love to experiment with all sorts of vegan dishes. Having fun with my food is really important. For me it’s about sharing delicious food with my friends. I love using spices and never compromise on flavour with my dishes.

Why MasterChef?

I want to show that vegan food can stand up there! There’s a misconception that vegan food can’t have the same amount of flavour as non-vegan dishes but I want to prove that plant-based food is just as delicious, if not more so.

Oli

Age (at time of filming): 31

Job (at time of filming): Wine Merchant

Current Location (at time of filming): Walthamstow, London

Hometown: I was born in Bristol and grew up in Keynsham, North Somerset. In my twenties I lived in Canada, the UK, and UAE.

Food Inspiration

I’m from an Italian background so my roots are embedded in Southern Mediterranean food.

Why MasterChef?

I work in the wine industry so whilst I don’t work directly with food, I do work indirectly with it in many ways, wine pairings, the world of restaurants. It’s my day job but I love it and I food and cooking is a natural progression from this. I want to now see if I can bring the two things together and take it to that next level.

Thomas

Age (at time of filming): 60

Job (at time of filming): Interior Designer

North Wales Chronicle: Thomas (BBC)Thomas (BBC)

Current Location (at time of filming): Windsor

Hometown: I was born and raised in the East Coast of Singapore and when I was 23 years old I started living overseas.

Food Style/Inspiration

I’ve lived in seven different countries in my life: Singapore; UK, USA; Holland; Germany; Hong Kong and China. What I cook is an eclectic mix of these experiences.

Why MasterChef?

I recently turned 60 and now it is about ticking off things from my bucket list - MasterChef is top of that list. I’ve cooked all my life but now want to take it to that next level.

Vanessa

Age (at time of filming): 28

Job (at time of filming): Credit Controller

Current Location (at time of filming): London

Hometown: South London - Norbury

Food Style/Inspiration

My parents are Jamaican, my grandma was born in Costa Rica, and I have other relatives from South America and Asia, which influence and inspire what I cook. Those are my main food inspirations, along with the places I’ve travelled to.

Why MasterChef?

I’d love to showcase Caribbean food on a big scale and give it the recognition it deserves - along with sharing my love of pastries and desserts.
