CANNABIS plants and mobile phones were seized during a police raid in Llangefni.

North Wales Police executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant in Pencraig on Sunday, January 29.

Sergeant Sara Evans, at Llangefni Police Station who coordinated the operation, said: "At 1.30pm, officers executed a warrant in Llangefni and seized 15 cannabis plants and a number of mobile phones.

"One person, a local man aged in his 40s, was interviewed in connection with the cultivation of cannabis and has since been ‘released under investigation.’

"Our commitment in keeping our communities safe remains a priority. Possession, distribution and cultivation of controlled drugs will not be tolerated in our communities and we will continue to take positive, robust action. "However we can’t tackle this problem alone and key to all our work is intelligence and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing their concerns with us.

"In line with the force’s Operation Scorpion we are fully committed to the investigation of serious and organised crime and I’d reiterate that anyone with any information regarding the production and supply of controlled drugs or anyone they believe is involved in organised crime should contact North Wales Police."
