Discount chain Lidl has submitted a planning application for a new supermarket.
Lidl UK has applied to Anglesey County Council for permission to build the new 1,423 square-metre store on part of a vacant school site, directly opposite its current operation on Industrial Estate Road, Llangefni.
The application follows a consultation exercise, which resulted in 100 per cent of respondents backing the plans.
Lidl UK regional head of property Stuart Jardine said: “Should planning permission be granted, the development will provide a modern Lidl supermarket and an improved shopping experience for shoppers in Llangefni, creating up to 20 new full and part-time jobs for people living locally – in addition to those employed in the existing store."
