AN 18-year-old man has received two year's youth detention after appearing before a Caernarfon court.

Danny Luck from Liverpool received the sentence at Caernarfon Crown Court, on Friday February 2.

He was in court charged with an attempted robbery, possession of a bladed article and committing an assault on police on Llangefni in December, 2017.

Speaking after the trial Llangefni Inspector Jason Higgins said: "Luck carried out an appalling act of threatening violence which must have had a traumatising effect upon a totally unsuspecting victim.

"Those few in our communities who use weapons and violence must understand there will be a consequence to their actions and we will aggressively pursue and prosecute all offenders.

"I welcome the sentence and hope it provides his victim with some sense of justice and reinforces our stance within our communities that we and the courts will not tolerate this type of behaviour."
