A JET crash on Anglesey has lead to major disruption to rail services in the area, with trains between Holyhead and Bangor cancelled until at least 4pm.

A T2 Hawk jet crashed upon take-off from RAF Valley this afternoon (September 23), leading to a major emergency service response.

Transport for Wales (TfW) said rail services between Holyhead and Bangor have been cancelled until at least 4pm, with disruption expected until at least 6pm.

This is due to an "obstruction on the track" at Valley railway station.

A TfW spokesperson said: "Due to an obstruction on the track at Valley (VAL):

"Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

"Services may be cancelled in both directions between Bangor (Gwynedd) (BNG) and Holyhead (HHD).

"We expect the incident to last until 16:00 and disruption to services is expected until 18:00."
