A MAN from Anglesey who raped a woman has been jailed for six years.

Conor Dunkley, 31, of Fern Hill, Benllech, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Friday, July 10, having being found guilty of rape and controlling coercive behaviour after a trial in February.

Dunkley also pleaded guilty to a third charge of criminal damage to property.

He raped the woman in Chester in July 2023, and also damaged the woman's mobile phone.

DC Ashley Frowe, of Cheshire Police, said: “Dunkley’s behaviour towards this woman was vile, unforgivable and callous.

"The sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes, and that behaving in this way will not be tolerated.

"I’d urge anyone in a similar position to contact us, or a support agency, to help them break free. Don’t suffer in silence.”
