The German food retailer has lodged plans for a new store at the Four Crosses Business Park, on a plot of undeveloped land west of Ffordd Penmynydd, Menai Bridge.
The chain said the "significant investment" would provide residents with a "better, affordable shopping experience"
Aldi said it would aim to start construction within 18 months of obtaining planning permission, should plans be approved.
A statement on behalf of the application said: "It is evident that the application site is well-located to serve the community of Menai Bridge, lying close to its existing residences and businesses.

"Moreover, the land’s redevelopment for retail purposes has the potential to bring an increase in consumer choice and reduce the need for local residents to travel to Bangor to meet their convenience shopping needs."
Aldi has 24 stores across North Wales, including in nearby Bangor, Llangefni, Holyhead and Pwllheli.
Its statement continued: "However, Aldi has no representation within Menai Bridge, and there is therefore an opportunity for a new store to benefit the local area and provide residents with a better, affordable shopping experience.
"The significant investment proposed in the application will see this site developed to provide a modern discount food store which is proportionate to the needs of Menai Bridge and surrounding settlements.
"The proposed food store development will enhance consumer choice and will provide further competition within the area’s food retail sector, albeit not to the detriment of nearby convenience service offerings.
"Furthermore, the scheme is eminently deliverable, with Aldi targeting construction within 18 months of obtaining planning permission.
"It is therefore clear that the scheme offers the guarantee of realisable economic development within Anglesey by a multi-national supermarket brand.
"The proposal will give rise to various economic benefits, including the creation of up to 40 full-time equivalent jobs with one apprenticeship at the site and various other indirect jobs in construction, supply chain, support etc. "
