A CLIMBER was airlifted to safety after reaching a mountain summit in Eryri.
South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team was called out to the Rhinog Fawr area at around 11.36am on Monday, 22 June.
The search and rescue team was called out to assist a group of three that had set off early to summit Rhinog Fawr.
They had reached the top, when suddenly one of the members developed severe hip pain and was unable to continue.
Due to the injury, remote location and high temperatures, assistance from the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter was requested and the casualty was airlifted to the search and rescue base for assessment and treatment.
The helicopter then returned three team members to the hill to assist the remaining members of the party to safely walk down the mountain to the vehicles.
A spokesperson for South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team added: "We hope the casualty is feeling better today."
