A primary school in Gwynedd with just two pupils is set to close in the coming months.
Ysgol Y Garreg, located in Penrhyndeudraeth, is a "homely and inclusive" school that "promotes pupils’ Welshness and well-being effectively", a recent Estyn report said.
The school had 17 pupils last year, but that figure dropped to nine in September and is now down to just two students in year 6.
These pupils are due to start secondary school in September, and there are no new registrations.
Cabinet member for education at Cyngor Gwynedd, Councillor Dewi Jones, earlier this year said: "By September, there will be no children at all."
Ysgol Y Garreg to close in August
Cyngor Gwynedd's cabinet voted unanimously to close the Ysgol Y Garreg on August 31, saying it could not ignore the "seriousness of the situation" and the county's falling birth rate.
Cllr Jones added the future of the school was "not sustainable” and it “did not offer the experience wanted for the children of Gwynedd".
He continued: "It has served the community for many years, and there are staff doing their best for the school and the two pupils, and many [members] of staff over the years, and I’d thank them for their service."
Council leader, Cllr Nia Jeffreys, said it was with “a heavy heart we have to hear this news".
Local member, Cllr June Jones, added: "The school has been there, I think, for about 143 years, and has provided excellent education for the children of the area.
“Many people think a lot of the school and it is sad that the pupil numbers have gone down so quickly.
“The number of children in the western world has dropped considerably and society has changed.
