A YOUNG Anglesey boxer is making his mark on the international stage after a string of standout performances for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Phil Green, 21, from Llanerchymedd, began boxing at 14 with Llangefni ABC, and quickly built up several wins to his name before deciding to pursue both a military and boxing career.

He signed up in November 2023 and passed out a year later, earning his green beret in November 2024.

Last week, he returned from Germany after a run of three bouts in three days, winning all three and once being named “best boxer of the tournament”.

Royal Navy Boxing said: “Congratulations to Royal Navy Boxing’s rising star, Mne Phil Green, who was crowned best boxer of the tournament while competing in Germany this week.

“Since joining the team just six months ago, Phil has already taken part in a training camp with the Dutch military team, a weekend training with Team England and a Welsh squad training camp.

“He has represented the Royal Navy and Royal Marines on numerous occasions, including an opportunity to compete in America, where he secured a TKO victory and was also named best boxer of the tour.

“Still undefeated in his military boxing career, Phil has an incredibly bright future ahead of him.”
