A CAR was swept away and swallowed by the sea at a Gwynedd beach.
RNLI crews were called out after reports that a vehicle had become submerged in the water at around 8.30pm on Thursday (October 9) at Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog.
A spokesperson for Criccieth Lifeboat said: "The station’s Atlantic 85-class lifeboat swiftly made-way towards the vehicle’s last known location to ensure that it was unoccupied and no one was in danger.
"Once police confirmed that the owner, and their dog, were safely ashore the lifeboat returned to station."
