A WOMAN from Anglesey has celebrated losing three stone and three pounds in 12 weeks after joining a Slimming World group.

Steph Angel joined the Valley group after spending hours in the gym exercising, but not getting the weight loss results she hoped for.

She has attended group meetings on Wednesday mornings, with her Slimming World consultant, Annette, assuring her it was possible for her to lose weight to try for IVF.

“From the very first session, I knew that group was the right decision,” she said.

“In the new-member talk, I heard that ‘Food Optimising’ isn’t about denying myself – it’s about eating more of what’s good for my health and weight loss.

“I got lots of ideas during image therapy – the part of the session where members get personalised support for the week ahead – as well as learning about great menu ideas.

“In the first week, I’d lost 5.5lbs, and another five pounds the week after! I never for one minute expected it to work, but suddenly I knew I could do this.

“I’ve started dance classes, which I'd never have had the confidence or energy to try before, and just a few weeks ago, I completed my first ever Race for Life for Cancer Research UK".

Annette, her consultant at Valley Slimming World, said: “We’re so proud of what Steph has achieved, especially after embracing our unique physical activity programme ‘Body Magic’, alongside ‘Food Optimising’.

“At Slimming World, we understand that the idea of going for a run or hitting the gym could put people off getting active at all!

“We also know that doing something you enjoy means that your far more likely to do it regularly. That’s why we take an ‘everything counts’ approach.”
