A MAN who attacked his then-partner at her RAF Valley accommodation has been jailed.

He had been convicted of assault, but was found not guilty after trial of charges including wounding with intent, criminal damage and stalking.

The court heard that, in March 2022, McClarence was arguing with his then-partner at her accommodation, before following her after she left the house.

McClarence then threw her against a door, grabbing her by the neck so she was unable to breathe.

He continued to attack her, before throwing her at the sink, causing her to lose consciousness.

Following this, he carried her back home, where she stayed for three days before she went to hospital.

She was later transferred to a trauma unit at a hospital in Stoke due to her injuries.

McClarence was also handed a lifetime restraining order during today’s sentencing.

Detective Constable Meinir Jones, of North Wales Police, said: “It is our priority to tackle all reports of violence against women and we will continue to bring offenders to justice.

“I welcome the court’s verdict today which follows a lengthy and difficult investigation into an incident which has left the victim with life-changing injuries.

“Her bravery throughout this investigation should be commended.

“I would urge anyone who is experiencing domestic abuse or violence to report it to us or reach out to a support agency. We will listen to you and investigate any report fully.”
