Two North Wales fish and chip shops have been named among the best in the UK.
Fry Magazine has revealed its annual top 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways and top 10 Best Fish & Chip Restaurants of 2024.
The awards recognise fish and chip restaurants across the UK "setting the gold standard in food quality, customer service and marketing".
Judges take on months of mystery dining at fish and chip shops across the country looking at food quality, premises cleanliness, staff expertise, value for money, ease of ordering and social media presence in order to come up Fry Magazine's final list.
The judges said they were impressed by the "consistently high standards being set" with some of the places even boasting “the best fish and chips I have had”.
The results are in for our 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways and 10 Best Fish & Chip Restaurants 2024, recognising those operators setting the gold standard in food quality, customer service and marketing.

Two North Wales fish and chops featured among the top 50 takeaways in the UK, according to Fry Magazine - Ainsworth’s Fish & Chips in Caernarfon and Finney’s Benllech in Benllech.

"Chose this shop because of reading reviews and we were not disappointed. The best fish, chips and mushy peas we’ve tasted for a very long time.
"Light crispy batter on the fish and plenty of chips. And packed in a box. Staff were very friendly - def recommend."

Finney's Benllech also finished in the top 10 in the best takeaway category at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024 while also being named as a finalist in the 'from field to frier' category.
