CONCERNS have been raised about a 'homeless campsite' which appears to be growing near Rhyl seafront.

There are currently three large tents in place on the grass area.

It is understood that one tent appeared about six weeks ago and then another shortly after.

There is now a larger third tent which appeared on Monday, March 11.

Dog walker Adam Thomas said: "The homeless campsite has been growing for the last couple of weeks on the Rhyl seafront.

"I live opposite and have been helping with food etc but I don’t understand why these guys aren’t being helped by local authorities. I’ve helped one of the men, who is from Ireland, with food and drink. I regularly talk to him whilst walking the dog and he would like help.

"They have three large tents, tables and campfires regularly."

Committed fundraiser Richard Kendrick, who was recognised for his work with communities across Denbighshire in 2022 and won a Platinum Champion Award in celebration of the Queen's Jubilee, said: "One person is local and two are not from the area. Two tents belong to one person.

"They are being looked after. Residents do not need to be concerned.

"We are checking in on the individuals and they all have my phone number.
