THE Dunelm store in Bangor has made a generous donation of homewares and furniture to all-girls school Ysgol Ein Harglwyddes and mental health unit Bryn Hesketh.

The donation of outdoor décor, including parasols, a fidget board, solar lights, and flowers, have been used to give the outdoor areas a bright transformation for summer.

David Hughes, store manager at Dunelm Bangor, said: “The teams at both Ysgol Ein Harglwyddes and Hesketh Dementia and Mental Health Unit do a wonderful job supporting people in their local community.

“So we wanted to do what we could to give them something back and revamp their space to ensure the students and residents can continue getting the support they need.”

Susannah Price, from Bryn Hesketh, added: “The ward is so grateful for the kind donation made by Dunelm Bangor.

“The garden furniture, plants and decorations have made such a difference to the outdoor space.

“The decorations have been used outside our palliative care room for family members to enjoy and have enabled patients to have a brighter and homely garden space to which we are all so grateful for.”

The donation is part of the homeware retailer’s series of initiatives in the North West, which sees its network of stores support members of their community in a variety of different ways.

The initiatives include the store’s new Home to Home homeware donation scheme, part of Dunelm’s wider commitment to a circular economy.

The Home to Home scheme, which is available at the Bangor store, as well as Dunelm’s 17 other North West shops, allows customers to donate pre-loved homeware items from any retailer.

These will then be redistributed to charities and community groups in the region.

It enables people to reduce household clutter without sending items to landfill, while benefiting those in their communities who may otherwise go without essential homewares.
