ANGLESEY football fans will have a “grandstand” view if plans to develop 50 stadium-style covered seats at a ground is agreed.
Anglesey Council has received a full application for the erection of the stand at Llangoed CPD’s Tyddyn Paun ground.
The new modular seating arrangement would provide a shelter to allow those watching games a chance to watch under shelter.
The application describes how a proposed 20.3m squared stepped seating box could be sited next to the club’s toilets, near to its Pavilion cafe beside the B5109 in Llangoed.
Diagrams in the plans show the roofed, modular-style, galvanised seating facing towards the dugouts.
A caveat notes: “The exact location of all apparatus [is] to be determined on site.”

The proposed development is also over the road from the Bryn Paun housing estate and near to a children’s play area, as well homes at Tyddyn Y Paun.
The application states the location of the seating unit would be obstructed by trees from the view of nearby homes.
It also states that residents were contacted about the scheme, by the community council, in 2021.

The box seating is described as being made of “injection moulded UV stabilised polypropylene”.
The design details of the galvanised metal-clad modular units can also be added to, to create larger seating areas if required.
The design of the units also offer options for wheelchair access.
According to the planning documents, the seating features include fully welded steel construction, comply with FA green guide construction and the sides can also be fitted with partial cladding and rails, with a choice of colours of seating.
The plans state: “The club proposed siting of the seating area, close to the toilets, obscured by trees so no disruption to the view for Tyddyn Paun houses, and consultation with residents to be C/O.”
Alun Foulkes of the Cyngor Cymuned Llangoed Community Council has made the application, which was received on Tuesday, June 6.
Local residents have a chance to offer their own view to the planners over the proposed sports development, until Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
