THE Royal Navy’s biggest warship was spotted cruising past Anglesey earlier this week.

HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08), an aircraft carrier, and its crew, were being put through their paces being in the Irish Sea ahead of its next deployment.

This summer, it will head to the Mediterranean Sea for a show of strength and defiance against Russia.

After departing Portsmouth on May 15, the £3.1billion ship arrived past Holyhead on Monday afternoon (May 22).

The attached photographs show the ship cruising past the South Stack lighthouse at about 4pm.

It measures 282 metres in length and can take on up to 40 aircraft; on Monday, it was seen carrying the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter fast jet.
