THE Food Warehouse, the UK’s fastest-growing supermarket and sister store to Iceland, is bringing a new 9,250 square foot shop to Menai Retail Park in Bangor.

The supermarket is set to open at 8am on March 28, creating 20 new jobs in doing so.

To celebrate the opening, the store has £1,000 worth of vouchers to give away to the first 100 customers through the door, ready for them to spend in store.

Additionally, customers entering the queue before 7.45am on the day of the opening will receive a raffle ticket.

This will give them the chance to win one of seven prizes, including two Tower 4L air fryers, three JML household essential hampers and two Daewoo Wireless Bluetooth fabric speakers.

The first 200 customers through the checkouts will also receive a free tub of Swizzles sweets.

Customers queueing before 7.40am, meanwhile, can take a guess at how many sweets are in a jar at the front of the store.

The customer with the exact or closest guess will win a new hot tub spa worth £250.

Customers in the queue before 7.30am on opening day will also be given a raffle ticket and entered into a free prize draw, where three winners will be chosen to take part in a 90-second trolley dash.

With the whole store to themselves, the winners can push their trolleys around the shop’s range and grab what they can, while they can, all for free.

Launched seven years ago, The Food Warehouse now has more than 170 stores across Britain.

Its Bangor store’s opening hours will be 8am-8pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
