A NEW bus service is to operate between Betws-y-Coed and Llandudno, following the discontinuation of a similar route by the same company.

Llew Jones Coaches has launched the 19X service, which operates three times daily, Monday to Saturday, and is free of charge until April 7.

Bus service between Gwynedd and Conwy set to be discontinued

The company previously ran the T19 service, between Blanaeu Ffestiniog and Llandudno, but that came to an end on February 11 after being in use for 18 months.

The 19X service stops at the following places:

  • Betws-y-Coed, Platform 2
  • Zip World, A470
  • Watling Street, Llanrwst
  • Cross Keys, Glan Conwy
  • Llandudno Junction, Platform 5
  • Hospital Road, Llandudno
  • Llandudno, Stop B/Y

Llew Jones said its decision to end the T19 service was due to it becoming “increasingly financially unviable”.

Janet Finch-Saunders, Aberconwy MS, then launched a petition calling for Welsh Government, Conwy County Borough Council, and Gwynedd Council to cooperate to offer a package of financial support to save the T19 service.
