TOMORROW (February 28), Boom Power Ltd will host a public information event to provide details on its proposed Carrog Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The event will be held at Hwb Cemaes, Lôn Glascoed, Anglesey in the village between 1-6pm, and is open to members of the public and businesses interested in learning more about the project.

Battery storage systems are developed for storing energy from renewable sources or directly from the electricity network.

Proposals for Carrog are for a stand-alone facility directly connected to the grid.

At times when there is surplus electricity available, the batteries are charged, allowing energy to be discharged when there is higher demand.

The proposed system aims to help ensure a more stable and reliable energy supply for communities.

Jack Spurway, head of planning at Boom Power, said: “We are pleased to host this public information event and to provide members of the community with an opportunity to learn more about our proposals for Carrog BESS.

“This project and ones like it have the potential to make a significant contribution to energy security as well as tackling climate change.

“We want to hear people’s views and believe it is important for the local community to be fully informed and have an opportunity to be involved in this process.”
