A NEW fine dining restaurant on Anglesey officially opens its doors to the public on Saturday.
Y Parlwr, Welsh for 'The Parlour', a 16-cover, tasting menu only restaurant, is located on High Street, Rhosneigr.
Hefin Roberts, a well-known and respected chef, is at the helm of the fine dining establishment which is headed up by Philip and Louise Goodwin of Out of The Blue Group.
Hefin said: "The vision for Parlwr is to bring inspiration and innovation to the food scene on Anglesey, and the wider locality, and to be at the heart of, and encourage, food tourism in Rhosneigr.
"There was an obvious niche to be filled for contemporary spins on traditional and local ingredients. The quality of produce from around our area is undeniable; at Y Parlwr the cuisine takes centre stage, and my motto of ‘chasing the impossible goal of perfection’ has characterised my cooking since the early days and remains evident in everything the team at Y Parlwr does.
We’re so excited about what lies ahead for the restaurant, and cannot wait for everyone who hasn’t experienced what we offer to join us at the restaurant."
In a joint statement, Phil and Louise said: "We are very excited to announce the opening of Parlwr; a fine dining restaurant which is intended to enhance and complement the existing hospitality offering at Sandy Mount House. We hope it will bring more visitors to Rhosneigr, year round.
"We wish Hefin and his team every success as they embark on this exciting journey."
There is only one other fine dining establishment on the island. As well as providing jobs for people in the area, Y Parlwr will be a welcome addition to the fine dining scene in an area which currently only boasts one other. Y Parlwr will be "heavily influenced" by local, seasonal ingredients, aimed at showcasing the "outstanding" produce available in the region. As well as the tasting menu, the restaurant will offer a crafted and immersive wine pairing option.
A soft opening of the establishment was conducted on December 22. Another was held on Wednesday, January 4.
Sandy Mount House, also in Rhosneigr, a hotel, bar and restaurant, also comes under Out of the Blue Group.
