In Criccieth, Mr Edmund S. Bailey, Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd, laid a wreath on behalf of the Crown and Cllr Sian Williams, chair of Criccieth Town Council.

On a sunny Sunday morning, PC Dewi Davies and PCSO Ashley Dacre took part in the remembrance service in Bethesda, along with a large crowd of residents.

PC Davies had the honour of presenting a wreath of red poppies at the cenotaph war memorial in the town centre, on behalf of North Wales Police.

NWP Gwynedd North added: “Although the occasion was bittersweet, it was warming for the officers to feel part of the community that they feel so proud to serve, on such an important date in our annual calendar.”

Officers in South Gwynedd also attended a number of events yesterday to remember those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.

Events in the area included Blaenau Ffestiniog, Beddgelert, Barmouth and Dyffryn Ardudwy.

Meanwhile, the Anglesey Neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance at many organised remembrance services across the island yesterday.

NWP Anglesey said: “It was a pleasure to see so many people out in such beautiful weather to pay our respects and join the nation in a two-minute silence.
