A PERSON was taken to hospital following a crash between a car and steam train at a level crossing.

The incident happend near Cwm Gloch Isaf, Caernarfon Road, Beddgelert.

Wales Air Ambulance attended the scene. 

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called this morning, Friday 28 October, at approximately 11.41am, to reports of a collision between a car and a train in Beddgelert. We sent one duty operations manager, and one emergency ambulance to the scene.

"We were supported by colleagues from the Wales Air Ambulance.

"One patient was conveyed by road to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital for further treatment."

North Wales Police also attended the scene as well as crews from North Wales Fire and Rescue.

A spokesperson from the fire service said they sent an officer and one crew from Caernarfon.

"We were called to the scene at 11.38am," they added.
