AN ARTIST has completed a stunning mural in an Anglesey village that showcases the region’s wildlife, landmarks and famous events.

Freelancer Ffion Roberts-Drakley’s mural can be seen in the village of Benllech, after she was commissioned by the owner of The Golden Fry, the fish and chip shop on whose building it has been done on.

Ms Roberts-Drakley said: “The Golden Fry paid for it - the lady in the chip shop wanted to brighten up the place and she got in touch.”

A number of landmarks can be seen, including the Menai Suspension Bridge and Parys Mountain.

Ffion finished the mural today, and added: “It starts with Penmon Lighthouse with stormy seas, seagulls and into a working boat out of Amlwch Port along with fishing gear and a porpoise, fish and chips with a diving seagull.

“A puffin and the Skerries Lighthouse, moving into Parys mountain and Menai bridge with big daffodils.

“And to the right is Moelfre lifeboat station, Dick Evans [the infamous Anglesey lifeboatman] and the Royal Charter [the ship wrecked in Dulas Bay off Anglesey in 1859] on the end.”

Ffion specialises in painting, illustration and murals, working on a variety of materials, and her work can be found here.
