A MAN from Llandudno has been banned from the roads after pleading guilty to committing three driving offences while in Anglesey.

Romulus Smith, 51, of Ffordd Penrhyn, was accused of the following while driving an Audi TT vehicle on the A55 in Gaerwen on March 20:

  • Driving without a licence.
  • Driving without third party insurance.
  • Driving with no less than 235 micrograms per litre of blood of Benzoylecgonine (BZE, a cocaine breakdown product).

He pleaded guilty to all three offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on September 20.

Smith was disqualified from driving for 18 months, and is to complete 150 hours’ unpaid work by September 25, 2023.

The court also ordered him to complete a maximum of 15 days’ rehabilitation activity.

He is to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £114 victim surcharge.

This totalled £199, to be paid as a full lump sum within 28 days.

An application was made by the court for deductions from Smith’s benefits.
