THE Beaumaris Makers Market is to return to Anglesey this weekend.

The market, based on Castle Square, will run from 10am-4pm on Sunday, September 18.

On Sunday, the following North Wales businesses will be attending:

  • Pen y Bryn Apiary (honey and beeswax products)
  • Anglesey Mon Distillery (gin, whisky, rum and vodka)
  • Jaspersparkle (silver spoon rings)
  • Coho Alto (scented candles, diffusers)
  • Scarlett Angel (fudge, treacle toffee, Bara Brith and biscuits)
  • Kraken Alchemy (pearl wax scented melts)
  • Grumble Studios (tie-dye clothing)
  • Lief (Cashmere wrist warmers/scarves, upcycled textiles)
  • Seapig (jewellery made from sea glass)
  • Mug Run (roasted coffee – beans or ground)
  • Miss Marple Makes (porcelain jewellery and decorations)
  • The Crafty Guillemot (wheel-thrown stoneware pottery)
  • Lesley’s Unique Decorations

Organised by Anne Arkle and Ray Blakemore, of Jaspersparkle silver spoon rings, black bunting will be displayed across all 12 gazebos as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.

Anne and Ray will also wear black armbands.

Anne said: “The Queen’s death came as such a shock, as I’m sure it did for so many people.

“It’s just so sad as she was such a constant in our lives, steadfast and devoted to her role – I have been very emotional watching the scenes from Edinburgh, and now from London.

“I feel the loss personally; I wish that we could get down to London to pay our respects in person.

“We could not let our event on Sunday run without some visual display to honour Her Majesty and that we mourn her death, especially on the eve of her funeral.

“We thought that black armbands and bunting would show our respect to the Queen.

“Each of the businesses are true makers - nothing is bought in, all items for sale are made by the stall-holder at each stand.

“The stall fees we charge, we donate to local charities (after costs covered) - we have raised £11,500 since 2018.”
