A forgotten chapel in the heart of a Gwynedd town has been sold, after more than a decade on the market.
Capel Salem, a Grade II listed building in Pwllheli, dates back to the 1800s and was owned by the Presbyterian Church of Wales.
Built in 1862, the chapel was remodelled and enlarged in 1893.
A fire was started in 1913 by a resident who tried to steal money from the chapel; when he found none he set fire to the building.
It was then closed until 1915, when its full restoration was completed.
The town centre site, including the car park, was on the market with Tudor Estate Agents for £200,000.
Along with the chapel, the site includes a couple of vestry rooms and a school room, and its pine pews and pulpit remain in place to this day.
The building was abandoned in 2010, and finally has a new owner after lying decadent for 12 years.
