PUPILS at Ysgol Friars in Bangor received their A-Level results today, with staff at the school saying they are "delighted" with the results achieved this year.

With significant increases in the percentages gaining A*-A and A*-C (compared with the last year that examinations were held pre-pandemic), this will ensure students are well-placed in the competition to gain places in the UK’s top universities.

Headteacher Neil Foden, said: “This is an excellent set of results which reflect the hard work of students and teachers.

“The students deserve particular praise for the way in which they have overcome the hurdles Covid placed in their way.

“They were the year group who had their GCSE examinations cancelled at short notice, changes to the way lessons were taught for months of their course and are the first year to return to examinations without the experience of having sat GCSEs.

“Their success is a tribute to their effort and resilience and we wish them all well for the future.”
