CHIRK AAA boss Andy Pryde isn't too happy with a near 100-mile round trip on a Friday night.

There's a return to Cymru North action as Chirk make the trip to Llanidloes Town for an 8pm kick-off.

"They're at home as well with a Friday night game," said Pryde.

"We got told it was a Friday night and Penrhyncoch in two weeks is on a Friday night as well."

Pryde is questioning why local games aren't played on Friday evenings, with Chirk at home to Gresford on next Friday evening.

"They could easily do that," he added.

It's going to be a hot one, too, with the temperature forecast to be around 28C at kick-off time.

Pryde says there will be changes to tactics in light of this and he added: "I think it will come down to who has got the strongest bench."

After a testing start to the season numbers-wise, things are starting to look a bit more positive for last season's Ardal North East League champions.

"We have got them all coming back from injury now," added Pryde, who had Dale Davies and Ryan Davies were on the bench last weekend and they will be in line for starting spots tonight.

"We have been missing seven for the first two-or-three games.

"I think Llanidloes are in the same boat."

Chirk go into the contest following a 6-1 loss to top flight Bala Town in the Welsh League Cup last season.

"They were pure quality, especially Dave Edwards in the centre of the park," said Pryde.

"In little periods, our lads played some of the best football of the season.

"It just broke down in the final third.

"I don't think anybody in tier two would have lived with them (Bala).

"It was a good experience for the boys."

Mark Richards, who was between the posts last weekend, will make his league debut for Chirk this evening.
