A MAN from Bangor has been banned from the roads and is to complete unpaid work after he was found guilty of six driving-related offences.

Jamie Fleming, 29, of Llys Mair, was accused of the following while riding a motorcycle on the A5 in Bangor on May 1:

• Driving with no less than 300 micrograms per litre of blood of Benzoylecgonine (the main metabolite of cocaine).

• Driving with no less than 25 micrograms per litre of blood of cocaine.

• Driving with no less than 6.7 micrograms per litre of blood of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC - the cannabinoid molecule in marijuana).

• Driving without third party insurance.

• Driving without a licence.

• Driving without a valid test certificate.

He pleaded guilty to all six offences at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on August 1.

Mr Fleming was disqualified from driving for 24 months, and ordered to undertake 200 hours’ unpaid work.

He is also to complete a maximum of 10 days’ rehabilitation activity, and a non-residential drug rehabilitation programme (with review).

The court also ordered Mr Fleming to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £95 victim surcharge.

He is to pay this total of £180 as a full lump sum within 28 days.

An application was also made by the court for deductions from Mr Fleming’s benefits.
